MKCCC is a non-profit child care facility whose mission is to provide safe, affordable, and exceptional child care and early education to a diverse group of children in a safe, healthy environment through innovative and developmentally appropriate programming. Located in Westchester County, New York, MKCCC is celebrating its 50th year of providing the highest quality child care and early education to children of working families in the community, regardless of their family’s ability to pay full tuition.
Incorporated in 1971, MKCCC began after the Mayor and Village Manager of Mt. Kisco surveyed low-income families and single mothers to determine the need and the costs working families could afford for care. The Interfaith Council of Northern Westchester and the Jr. League of Northern Westchester worked with the Village of Mt. Kisco to help establish MKCCC by providing funding, leadership, and volunteers to work alongside teaching and administrative staff. The commitment of our friends, local communities, and area organizations and foundations has allowed the Center to flourish throughout its important history in Mount Kisco.
Over the last 50 years, MKCCC’s exceptional program has served more than 6,500 area children. The Center is committed to its successful service – balancing families who can pay the full fee for care with families who require need-based scholarship support to attend. MKCCC is proud of its diversity, which benefits the children, families, and the community as a whole, and is committed to creating an environment that fosters the practice of understanding, cooperation, tolerance, and respect.
MKCCC provides year-round child care and early education programs for children beginning at three months until they start elementary school. The Center offers before- and after-school care to primary school children in kindergarten through 5th grade and a full-time, eight-week summer enrichment camp for elementary students through 5th grade. Our regular hours of operation are from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday, year-round. To comply with COVID-19 social distancing rules, MKCCC is operating with reduced hours, from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Mount Kisco Child Care Center believes that every child should spend their day in a high quality, developmentally appropriate place—a place designed to meet their needs and help them realize their potential. More than ever, we rely on the kindness and generosity of people in our community to help us carry out our mission. Thank you for your continued support!
