Meet Our Honorees
Represented by Jessica Reinmann and Mike Slomsky, 914Cares is a local 501c3 providing help to those in need in Westchester and educating the community at large about poverty in Westchester county.
“Our vision is for everyone in Westchester to live a full, healthy, and happy life free from the hardship of poverty.” 914Cares meets their goals by distributing essential, tangible resources–including clothing, baby items such as diapers, and personal care products with a special focus on menstrual hygiene via their Period Project. They also collaborate with over 80 local organizations, including MKCCC. Additionally, they run outreach to engage young volunteers of the next generation and facilitate events to further educate their partners and the public, such as The Westchester Poverty Symposium.
914Cares has been an incredible partner and supporter of MKCCC for many years, giving us a voice in the community as well as providing resources for us to distribute to our low-income families. We cannot thank them enough for their dedication and we are thrilled to honor them at the 18th Annual Feed Me Fresh!
Chef and Owner Bonnie Saran of The Little Drunken Chef– as well as the many Westchester “Little” restaurants– is an avid supporter of MKCCC and fosters a community wherever she goes.
Bonnie’s generosity knows no bounds, working tirelessly to provide the best for her employees and her patrons as well as hosting an entirely free Thanksgiving dinner for whoever is in need of somewhere to go for the holiday– an affair that attracts upwards of 800 people. She has also been an active restaurant participant in MKCCC’s Feed Me Fresh: An Edible Evening since the very beginning– donating incredible bites to our biggest event of the year and bringing her amazing energy while doing it.
We thank Bonnie so very much for her dedication to the community and to MKCCC and are honored to be honoring her at the 18th Annual Feed Me Fresh.
