Mount Kisco Child Care Center Hosts Annual Feed Me Fresh: An Edible Evening

Mount Kisco, NY – (October 10, 2012) – Mount Kisco Child Care Center (MKCCC) recently hosted its Eighth Annual Feed Me Fresh: An Edible Evening at Eric Hadar’s beautiful Ivanna Farms located in Bedford Corners, NY. Guests enjoyed the breezy autumn evening as they dabbled in tastings from more than 20 of Westchester’s most notable restaurants and farms.

Proceeds from Feed Me Fresh will be used to provide invaluable scholarship assistance to children enrolled at MKCCC.

The event honored local community advocates, Frances and Isidoro Albanese and Curtis Beusman. MKCCC recognizes these individuals for their admirable commitment to giving back to the northern Westchester community and for supporting MKCCC in its efforts to provide educational programs which promote a healthy lifestyle among students and their families.

The event featured tastings made with ingredients from local and regional farms prepared by a number of top Westchester Chefs. Participating restaurants included: Bellizzi, Captain Lawrence Brewing Company, Crabtree’s Kittle House, Farmer and the Fish, MKCCC Feed Me Fresh Kitchen, Thomas Fox & Son Catering, Frannie’s Goodie Shop, Johnny Gelato, La Camelia, La Tulipe Desserts, Ladle of Love, Café of Love, Lexington Square Café, Little Kabob Station, Mount Kisco Seafood, Mount Kisco Wines & Spirits, MTK Tavern, Myong Gourmet, Quaker Hill Tavern, Silver Spoon Catering, Village Social, Westchester Burger Company.

“Feed Me Fresh highlights the importance of bringing healthy choices to the lives of our growing children,” said Dottie Jordan, MKCCC Executive Director. “We are so grateful to our friends, neighbors, and to the community for supporting us over the years.”

The event was co-chaired by Chappaqua resident Clark Robson and White Plains resident Phyllis Herz. Longtime Katonah resident and esteemed actor, John Bedford Lloyd served as the evening’s master of ceremonies.

Feed Me Fresh is MKCCC’s garden-to-table, sustainable nutrition program designed to increase the level of appreciation for healthy foods and healthy choices for children at an early age. The event highlights the Center’s commitment to community-based programming by educating families about healthy choices, while simultaneously showcasing the work of local chefs, farmers and artisans.
