Feed Me Fresh

Learning To Be Healthy Through Gardening

MKCCC has been on the forefront of sustainability and nutrition education for children with its signature Feed Me Fresh (“FMF”) Program, a comprehensive seed-to-table nutrition education program. With input from nutritionists, teachers, chefs, and farmers, FMF couples hands-on farming units with cooking classes, based on seasonal offerings from our playground gardens, to create well-rounded, developmentally appropriate activities and projects for each age group.

The curriculum is supported and reinforced by an in-house Food Service team that provides fresh, healthy, homemade meals and snacks through sustainable methods while supporting local agriculture whenever possible. Parents and families also participate through family dinner nights, sharing recipes used in the classroom, and volunteering to work in the gardens.

TESTIMONIALS

What people are saying

STEPHANIE & JORDAN, MKCCC Parents

“Our son started in Toddler A in November after just moving to the area. We couldn’t be happier with our experience at MKCCC. The teachers are phenomenal, so loving and nurturing. We’ve watched our son blossom over the past 8 months. He’s learned so much – socially and developmentally.”

VANESSA KARDOS, Toddler Program

Supervisor/Toddler A Head Teacher

“I’ve been a toddler teacher here at MKCCC for 16 years. These have been the most rewarding years of my life. Building the foundation for children to develop upon and blossom into little explorers ready to take on the world is the most wonderful phenomenon to watch. Many of the children who were among the first classes I had, are now returning as volunteers. It’s amazing to see these kids as well-rounded adolescents who give their time to spend with us. I love working here at MKCCC and most of all love that I spend my days giving and receiving such love.”
