Fun in the Sun (and Learning Too!)

Children say the best part of summer is no school and no homework! However, the learning never ends at MKCCC. Summertime provides a different kind of learning experience for the children.

Our full day Summer Camp Program is designed specifically for school-aged children who have completed Kindergarten – 5th grade and runs for 8 weeks.

Please see below for more information and to complete the Summer Camp Application.

Summer Camp Highlights

  • Campers work in the Feed Me Fresh Gardens, harvest their crops, cook with what they grow, and hold weekly farmers markets to sell their goods!  This special program is packed with lessons in science, sustainability, nutrition and healthy eating, as well as business planning, marketing and pricing!
  • Campers develop their swimming skills in a safe environment with near daily trips to the town pool.  Children swim every day except Wednesday at the Leonard Park Memorial Pool from 3:30 until 5:00pm.
  • Every Wednesday the children go on a field trip adventure or participate in a special event on site at MKCCC. Examples of past trips and specials include trips to Quassy Amusement Park, Mini Golfing, Bowling, and on-site events like petting zoos, bouncy obstacle courses and the Bubble Bus!!
  • Outdoor playgrounds include a basketball court, sand box, climbing equipment, green spaces for soccer, volleyball and badminton.

Other Important Notes

  • MKCCC’s Summer Camp provides opportunities for early morning drop off and extended day pick up for no extra fee.
  • Camp days include breakfast, hot lunches and snacks for all campers.
  • The camp fee covers the costs of all programs including swimming, field trips, and specials like dance and martial arts.
  • Indoor air-conditioned classrooms and play areas ensure the fun doesn’t stop on days that are rainy or simply too hot!

Please note, our year-round Infant, Toddler and Pre-K programs provide many fun in the sun activities and adventures to ensure all our MKCCC children get to experience the best of summer.

TESTIMONIALS

What people are saying

STEPHANIE & JORDAN, MKCCC Parents

“Our son started in Toddler A in November after just moving to the area. We couldn’t be happier with our experience at MKCCC. The teachers are phenomenal, so loving and nurturing. We’ve watched our son blossom over the past 8 months. He’s learned so much – socially and developmentally.”

VANESSA KARDOS, Toddler Program

Supervisor/Toddler A Head Teacher

“I’ve been a toddler teacher here at MKCCC for 16 years. These have been the most rewarding years of my life. Building the foundation for children to develop upon and blossom into little explorers ready to take on the world is the most wonderful phenomenon to watch. Many of the children who were among the first classes I had, are now returning as volunteers. It’s amazing to see these kids as well-rounded adolescents who give their time to spend with us. I love working here at MKCCC and most of all love that I spend my days giving and receiving such love.”
