20TH ANNUAL ‘FEED ME FRESH: AN EDIBLE EVENING’ SHOWCASES LOCAL CUISINE AND COMMUNITY SPIRIT IN SUPPORT OF MOUNT KISCO CHILD CARE CENTER

A Memorable Culinary Event at Ivanna Farms Celebrates Distinguished Community Members and Supports MKCCC’s Scholarship Fund

June 18, 2024 (Mount Kisco, NY) – Mount Kisco Child Care Center (MKCCC), a non-profit dedicated to providing equitable access to high-quality child care and early education to a diverse group of children, is excited to announce its 20th Annual “Feed Me Fresh: An Edible Evening” fundraiser. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, September 21st, 2024, at 5:30 PM at the stunning Ivanna Farms in Mount Kisco.

For over 50 years, MKCCC has been serving working families in Westchester, currently caring for 145 children ranging from 3 months to eleven years old through full-day care, as well as before-school, after-school, and summer camp programs. Central to MKCCC’s award-winning curriculum is the Feed Me Fresh program, a seed-to-table nutrition initiative featuring gardens outside each classroom.

Inspired by MKCCC’s innovative curriculum, “Feed Me Fresh: An Edible Evening” brings together top local restaurants who donate their culinary talents, emphasizing the importance of fresh, nutritious, and delicious food for children while supporting families in the community. All proceeds from the evening will go directly to MKCCC’s Scholarship Fund, reinforcing our commitment to making high-quality child care accessible to all families in our community.

“In this collaboration, we aim to blend a distinctive tasting experience with essential fundraising efforts, creating a remarkable event while supporting a vital cause,” says Dawn Meyerski, Executive Director of MKCCC. “This year, we are honored to recognize our 2024 recipients, Ruth Goodman and Peter Schwartz, who have provided consistent and invaluable support.”

Ruth Goodman, MKCCC’s Social Worker for 17 years, plays a central role in every family’s experience, tirelessly advocating for their needs and securing essential services. Her coordination with community partners ensures comprehensive support, profoundly impacting many MKCCC families.

Longtime supporter Peter Schwarz, a Board member since 2013, has provided strategic guidance and caring leadership for MKCCC during challenging times. As a father dedicated to MKCCC’s mission, he ensures a safe place for children and peace of mind for working parents, serving in every Board position, including President.

“We invite you to join us in this celebration of local flavors, sustainability, and community. This promises to be an evening to remember – a testament to community spirit, philanthropy, and the transformative power of fresh food and education,” concludes Meyerski.
