Feed Me Fresh: An Edible Evening is Still Fresh

Music, Food and Fabulous Fun to Benefit Mount Kisco Child Care Center

Mt. Kisco, NY – (September 16, 2009) – Mount Kisco Child Care Center (MKCCC) will host its Fifth Annual Feed Me Fresh: An Edible Evening fundraiser on September 26, 2009 at 6:30 pm. The event will take place at West Patent Farm, Guard Hill Road at West Patent Road, Bedford Hills, NY.

An exciting evening of music, cocktails, farm market offerings, and fabulous foods will help support MKCCC’s scholarship fund, enabling the Center to continue offering its innovative programming to children of all backgrounds.

Chappaqua residents Pam and Jeff Moskowitz, and Pound Ridge residents Tara Hennigan and Dominic Lamanuzzi, will serve as event co-chairs.

MKCCC’s Board of Directors will honor Bedford Corners resident Gretchen Menzies and Pound Ridge resident Wendy Lipp for their ongoing support of MKCCC’s programming and fundraising efforts. Exceptional Community Service Awards will be presented to Chappaqua Transportation, EssentialMom.com and former MKCCC student volunteer Amanda Taitz.

Feed me Fresh is MKCCC’s garden-to-table, sustainable nutrition program designed to increase the level of appreciation for healthy foods and healthy choices for children at an early age. The event highlights the Center’s commitment to community-based programming by educating families about healthy choices, while simultaneously showcasing the work of local chefs, farmers and artisans.

Foods prepared throughout the evening will feature Westchester’s finest chefs who will use ingredients from local and regional farms. Participating chefs and their affiliate restaurants include: Brian Lewis, Bedford Post; Brad McDonald, Crabtree’s Kittle House; Maarten Steenman, La Tulipe Desserts; Lesley Sutter, The Flying Pig on Lexington; Myong Feiner, Myong’s Private Label Gourmet; Leslie Lampert, Ladle of Love and Café of Love; Jonathan Pratt, Table Local Market; Matthew Karp, Plates; Felipe Milanes, French American Bistro, Anthony Colasacco, Pour Café and Wine Bar; M. Taylor Smelser, Taylored Menus; Jennifer and Jeffrey Kohn, Q Restaurant and Bar; John Ubaldo, John Boy’ Farm; and Scott Vacarro, Captain Lawrence.

Blue Harvest will provide the musical backdrop with a special appearance by Emmy Award winning musician Isaac Raz. A live and silent auction will feature such items as spa treatments, tickets to sporting events, fine dining, vacation packages and more.
