Mount Kisco Child Care Center Announces New Board Leadership and New Board Members

Mt Kisco, NY – (June 22, 2016) – Mount Kisco Child Care Center (MKCCC) announces the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors as well as the election of a new President and Vice President. The board now comprises 16 members in total.

Effective April 20, 2016, Thomas Coleman was named President of the Board of Directors and Peter Schwarz will serve as the Board’s Vice President. Mr. Coleman, Chief Science Officer at Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, has been a member of MKCCC’s Board of Directors since 2007. Mr. Schwarz, Principal of Integral Derivatives, joined the board in 2013, and previously held the role of Treasurer. Carol Gill and Hillary Harrison, M.D. both joined the board in 2016.

Carol Gill, a Certified Educational Planner has been directly involved in college admissions and school counseling for over 25 years. She was the Associate Director of Admissions at Barnard College, and prior to that was the Director of College Counseling at The Masters School where she also headed the Social Science Department. Ms. Gill is a graduate of Harvard University and holds a master’s degree from Manhattanville College. A recent resident of Mt Kisco, she has long been an admirer of MKCCC and is delighted to be a member of its Board. She is well aware of the importance of early childhood education and looks forward to help promote the mission of the Center.

Hillary Harrison is a psychiatrist at Putnam Hospital Center and Health Quest Medical Practice.  She received her dual BA in Biology and Environmental Studies from Oberlin College and her medical degree from Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine.  As a physician treating brain based illnesses, Dr. Harrison is acutely aware of the tremendous brain development that occurs in early childhood and its long term implications.  She sees early childhood education as a critical issue. The value of children achieving their full potential, cognitively and emotionally, isn’t significant only for themselves and their families, but for the greater community.  As a mother of young children in Westchester County, she appreciates the tremendous peace of mind parents get from knowing their child is in trustworthy hands when they cannot be there themselves.
