Edible Fundraiser to benefit Center’s Scholarship Fund
Mt. Kisco, NY – (August 13, 2010) – Mount Kisco Child Care Center (MKCCC) will host its Sixth Annual Feed Me Fresh: An Edible Evening fundraiser on September 25, 2010 at 6:30 pm. The event will take place at Ivanna Farms in Bedford Corners, NY.
The evening of music, cocktails, farm market offerings, fabulous foods and auctions will help support MKCCC’s scholarship fund, enabling the Center to continue offering its innovative programming to children of all backgrounds.
Mount Kisco resident Lauren Schwarzfeld and Goldens Bridge resident Lauren Wysmuller will serve as event co-chairs.
Pam Moskowitz, Volunteer Coordinator, of Chappaqua; Cynthia and Patrick Brennan, Sustainable Entrepreneurs, of Katonah; and Mimi Edelman, Farmer Educator, of Katonah will all be honored for their steadfast commitment to MKCCC and vision for its future.
Feed me Fresh is MKCCC’s garden-to-table, sustainable nutrition program designed to increase the level of appreciation for healthy foods and healthy choices for children at an early age. The event highlights the Center’s commitment to community-based programming by educating families about healthy choices, while simultaneously showcasing the work of local chefs, farmers and artisans.
Foods prepared throughout the evening will feature Westchester’s finest chefs who will use ingredients from local and regional farms. Participating chefs and their affiliate restaurants include: Bellizzi, Café of Love, Captain Lawrence Brewing Co., Coffee Lab Roasters, Crabtree’s Kittle House, MKCCC’s Feed me Fresh Kitchen, The Flying Pig on Lexington, French American Bistro, John Boy’s Farm, Johnny Gelato, La Tulipe Desserts, Myong Private Label Gourmet, North, Quaker Hill Tavern, Table Local Market, Taylored Menus and Village Social Kitchen and Bar.
Guests will be entertained with live, New Orleans-style jazz under the leadership of Isaac Raz. A live and silent auction will feature such items as spa treatments, tickets to sporting events, fine dining, vacation packages and more.
Tickets cost $175 and are tax-deductible. All event proceeds will benefit Mount Kisco Child Care Center’s scholarship program.
