MOUNT KISCO CHILD CARE CENTER WELCOMES WHITNEY HANSON AYALA AND MICHAEL SANDERS TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Accomplished finance professionals join MKCCC to support its mission of providing equitable access to high-quality child care and early education

March 10, 2025 (Mount Kisco, NY) – Mount Kisco Child Care Center (MKCCC), a nonprofit child care and early education provider, is pleased to announce the appointment of Whitney Hanson Ayala and Michael Sanders to its Board of Directors. Both distinguished finance professionals with extensive investment expertise and deep commitments to community service, Whitney and Michael will help further MKCCC’s mission to provide equitable access to high-quality child care and early education regardless of a family’s ability to pay.

As a Managing Director at Kohlberg & Company, a premier private equity firm and longtime supporter of MKCCC, Whitney helps lead the firm’s healthcare investment strategy. She has over a decade of experience in finance and investment, with previous roles at Bridgepoint and Investcorp International, specializing in middle-market leveraged buyouts. Whitney began her career in investment banking at Deutsche Bank and holds a B.A. in International Studies from Middlebury College, where she demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership and volunteerism.

Whitney is an active board member of United Digestive, OB Hospitalist Group, and Trinity Life Sciences. She also holds a leadership role in the New York Private Equity Network (NYPEN), having served as Co-President from 2020 to 2022. A Mount Kisco resident, Whitney lives with her husband and their daughter. She is also a proud dog mom to two Labradors, Red and Ginny.

Michael Sanders brings over 30 years of experience in investment management to his role as Chief Investment Officer at 5C Capital Management. Previously, he served as President and Chief Investment Officer of Clark Dodge Asset Management, overseeing investment policy and financial market strategies for individuals, institutions, and organizations. His past roles also include leadership positions at Gerstein Fisher, Stein Roe Investment Counsel, and J. & W. Seligman & Company.

Michael earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo and an MBA in Finance from Long Island University’s CW Post Campus. He also completed the Behavioral Sciences Executive Education program at UCLA’s Anderson Graduate School of Management. A resident of Armonk, NY, Michael lives with his wife and four children and has been an active community leader, serving as past Chairman of the Byram Hills Education Foundation, a two-term Byram Hills School Board Trustee, and the current Vice-Chair of the Finance Committee for St. Patrick’s Church of Armonk.
