The summer winds down and before a new school year is upon us, it’s time to stop and smell the basil. And the lavender. It’s also a time to reflect on what a wonderful season it has been for the children of MKCCC and for the Center as a whole. I’m reminded of the wonder of it all as I walk through our gardens. Sunflower seeds, planted last Fall with the help of IBM volunteers, grew into a beautiful sunflower in the preschool gardens, shown at right. Also last Fall, the preschool children wondered, “what would happen if we left a pumpkin to rot in the soil until Spring?” The result? We have two large pumpkins growing. Can Halloween be far behind?
